this game really made me feel things and i can't put those things into words so here are three thumbs up emojis:
👍👍👍
Spoilers(?) below
it's interesting to me that, even after the 'end' of the game (the epilogue), Lenka/Baetyl/who or what the player character is will always return to the room with the television in it.
Also, (I just looked this up on google so it's probably at least a little bit inaccurate) 'baetyl' means 'sacred stone' and/or 'house of god', so it makes sense why the description of the game says 'a god preserved in stone'.
But also also, the name 'Lenka' means something to the effect of 'bright one', which is interesting to me because (I assume) we are playing as Lenka wandering her 'home', and there is only one room where the statue that represents the player character is emitting light in some way: labyrinth i.
In the other rooms, the lamps are the ones shining light, and the lamp is [more spoilers] what leads to the secret thing. It could be said that by figuring out how to get past each obstacle, we/Lenka are/is illuminating the way through, but it is stated that Lenka was not discovering new pathways, only following ones that others have previously gone through.
Sorry for the wordy comment, this game Provokes my Thoughts a lot.
I almost got the plot, it was super interesting!
That was really amazing!!! The door on labyrinth I scared me half to death. I really love the clue you left behind at the end too.
My partner and I got to play this together, it was really nice and bittersweet. :”P Kind of feels like personally sitting through the learned helplessness experiment. And being painfully socially isolated as a kid no matter what you did to try and make things work this time. A voluntary stasis to prevent every following action from rendering the situation so much worse than before, forever wanting to regain that once unblemished slate, a figurine in glass casing, the untarnished ideas of past.
That stasis being a choice, but still a form of entrapment that makes paralysis feel safer than any misstep, even as it renders you sitting ducks at the end of a maze with the beast drawing ever near.
Very fun game, but that cabinet instills evil urges in me.
this game perplexes me
8/10, could be a bit more generous with hints but otherwise its a confusing time that i really enjoyed :3
This is amazing I love it. I love it. You inspire me.
Oh my god. Look, this is one of the most creative games I've ever played but god please give me some more feedback on the puzzles!!! I've been stuck on labyrinth i for longer than I've been alive, I swear! Also I dunno if this is a bug but I never touched the door on the other side on perplexity i but it's still greyed out... I'm assuming that's a pun since I did exit through the other door? Regardless, really nice project, love the textures, and very creative puzzle design.
this rocks...
